i get no results from various techniques. i guess i gotta stop obsessing about it and focus on waking life.
i use to be able to do it as a kid like every night and go into my star wars death star astrl temple and fight dinosaurs and give people reiki healings and play with all the toys my mom wouldnt buy me. damn it sucks.

    A few questions:

    1) How many hours do you sleep each night?
    2) Do you wake up on your own, or use an alarm?
    3) Do you practice any form of regular meditation?

i noticed that my lucid dreams occur most frequently as the result of an "attack"
      and my response to it.

Whatever ritual paradigm I am practicing at the moment, shows itself effective
once I respond to tense dream encounters with it
and this often results in a period of subsequent lucidity
during the dreams for the rest of the night.

I do not necessarily regard the source of threat scenes in dreams
as coming from outside of me
i now regard them possibly as a means whereby I signal myself
to come awake in the dream
if i make an act of Will
such as the drawing of a pentagram etc.

This is most likely to occur if i am invested in daily practice of it.

        we all have ADD....
        AKA
having lots of energy in strange days.

        Try to meditate longer.
        Become a statue . .

Give rhythm to your belly brain
ease the breath down to four revolutions a minute

        Forget everything.

Awareness is an exercise . .
        practice it in waking life
and in dreams you shall be wake

Most lucid dreams happen in the 8th and 9th hour of sleep, most often after you wake and then drift back to sleep. If you wake, stay in the same position, then drift back off holding whatever thought you wish to guide you into the dreamstate. Alternatively, waking, sitting up and meditating for 10 minutes, then going back to sleep holding your thought can also work. The trick isn't so much on what hold your thought on as you drift off, but that you hold it constant on something as you drift back off.

Dreaming checks during waking hours also help quite a bit.

It's hilarious that you write this.
Last night I began an attempt to reconnect to a lucid dream that I'd had a night previous which felt like the start of an adventure, and, hence, unresolved.

I sat in meditation, and brought myself back to the location in the dream where I'd woken up.
I felt myself move there, felt the veil shifting.
    Came back.
The next attempt felt forced. I tried to keep a balance between holding it fixed in consciousness, and obsessing.
I felt like I accomplished a decent job of it.

The goal was to find a Machete, location unimportant, but to find a Machete, and bring it back to that spot.

I barely remember the dream to be honest.
I'm interested in doing further work... we'll see how it goes.
I'm using "Neptune" as a focus.

I wish I could give a better answer, but I'm having minimal luck as well.

As always, Lust for Result is one of the possible answers...
