for me anger is Number 1 i remember when i was in highschool i would listen to music and visualize beating up my bullies and get into a trance doing it. it was my first gnostic experience i think. i would use violent visualization to get into a trance. kinda like don juan advised carlos to do to get into a warriors mood. maybe thats why i love those books. cuz i feel like i can relate but i dont hink i relate to carlos stubborness though. anyway..... emotions are a powerful tool if i could be like an actor and commit to the moment of of my emotions i can probably achieve trance in all emotions. that would be awesome even though i hate the negative emotions but thats what being human is all about until you acheive enlightenment then you choose your emotions.

The Alphabet of Desires seems particularly apt and appropriate in this field.
Indeed, I have put forth the SOI to become an Adept of the Arena of Anon.

A certain degree of proficiency in surrender seems necessary to progress effectively in this skill.
The Rational mind works wonders in creating restraint.
And it is blessed and beautiful, because it keeps us from over indulging, and becoming self destructive in our urges.
Kia, a creature of impulse, would gladly destroy us on a whim, to keep it's satisfaction. Rational Mind puts Kia into service, and allows us to prevent things from getting out of hand.

A master of emotions needs mastery over getting things out of hand.
Overflowing, in all spheres, to ecstacy.

Can you bawl like your mother died?
Feel rage like you're facing the one who did it?

Re-experience the first joy of incarnation? Of Acceptance?
The sheer terror, not of a hundred foot drop that you chose to go over, but the one that you didn't?

Can you muster enough desire to sacrifice everything?
How about enough repulsion to let the law and safety be damned?

Emotions feel undiluted. They are raw and elemental in a way that thoughts and culture are not.
Right Brain "Shape, Feeling, Motion" to the Left Brain "Context, Compare"

    Become ok with being wrong.
Who cares what things mean. It's how it makes you feel.

    Emotions are addictive.
    Water. Poison.
You can get in over your head. Drown.

Beneath the reflective surface, though, there's a whole other universe of "real".
    Regardless of how transient.
